Cinderella slippers

Oi vey.  My cinderella shoes are going in the trash after eight consecutive months of posing practice. I have ordered several styles in the past with very little luck until I found this specific pair. The 5″ stiletto with ankle straps were great walking shoes. The half-inch platform made them comfortable and now I’m on the search for a pair that are equally as comfortable. It must also be a pair that does not detract from my physique or posing suit.

Unfortunately, I’m picky and frugal. I hate to spend a lot of money on clear plastic shoes. No matter how nice of a shoe it happens to be,  I find clear shoes to be unattractive. Some are better than others, but regardless of my personal opinion,  I must have a pair.  I have found a site that has the same pair I purchased last year but they are nearly $30 more this time around. LOL! Man, am I cheap.

Okay, I’m moving away from the shoes for a moment. My workout schedule has been three days on, one day off, two days on and one day off. Guess what I noticed?  It’s not working. I realized I have to train Monday through Friday because I have other commitments that come first. This type of split  means  going to the gym on Saturdays and that’s not working out well.  I’ve missed more sessions in the last four months than in the two years that I’ve lived in Chicago. That’s  one more lesson I’ve learned.

Showdown at the Smith Machine

It’s late for me and I’m doing a bit of “home work.” I have another new client for posing who begins on Wednesday and I’ve got to get her ready for the  NPC Ottawa bodybuilding show. She’s got a fantastic physique so now we have to work on a very important and difficult aspect of the contest prep.

I understand that diet is 80% of the game but nothing looks worse on stage than a competitor who is shaking in their plastic high heel shoes because they didn’t practice posing.

Okay, I’m moving on to something new. Today, my partner Amanda and I were having an enjoyable back work out. After a set of exercises we moved on to do rows on the smith machine. In the Downers Grove XSport there are three Smith machines in the corner with very little room in between them.

In this teeny-ass gap between the Smith machines this man was doing some very ill-performed exercises and when I asked if he was using the  Smith he looked at me like I was crazy.  He say’s “Am I going to be in the way.” Um yeah… my only answer was “Yes, because I’m going to hit you with the bar.” Now, I didn’t say this rudly, but he was dead center between both machines and was occupying space that wouldn’t allow anyone to use the Smith’s.

He still stood there looking at me. I looked at him. He looked at me. I looked at him and said “Just forget it.” Then, he tried to move over. I could have stayed for longer but he had gotten on my last nerve within that two-minute show down. He won that battle because I walked away.  Five years ago I would have jumped on his back like a damn monkey until he gave up the spot. I guess I’m happy times have changed.

Confessions of a Muscle Bound Diva

Anyone who knows me knows I’m no diva but I love the sound of it and somewhere deep down I’m a girlie-girl about certain aspects of my life so I have created a newer blog named  ”Confessions of a Muscle Bound Diva.” Although it will cover my training and competitions it will also cover other passions I have.  Although I enjoyed the set up of my other blog this it seems to fit my personality better.

Since I brought up the subject of my other passions I thought I would share with you my love for shoes. I LOVE SHOES!!! Stilettos to be exact; even though I don’t get to wear them that often with the kids but it didn’t stop me from buying three of the hottest pair of boots last week!  Meeeeeeow!!!

Now, back to business.  Training for my figure competition has been moving along well and I am at the resolve I may not be as lean as I would hope to be for my show.  Since I am not getting on the scale I don’t know my exact weight  but can tell that my weight loss isn’t where it should be.  My diet can’t get any cleaner so my plan at this point is to present my package the best I can.  I have come too far to back out so I’ll have to make sure my posing is on-point and to smile my ass off.
