Photo comparisons from 2011

Comparisons from last year

2012 has not started on the best of circumstances, but I’m making do.  My training has picked up and I’m really focusing to build quality muscle. I’m pushing myself with heavier weights and higher reps for now.

Anyhow, today I trained with Amy, a new client. I have to hand it to her; she took a beating for shoulders. She trained legs with me the other day. No complaints, and smiled the entire time, but I know it was brutal.

Normally I don’t train with my clients, but we are doing something a little different for her contest prep.

Shoulders exercises:

  • Shoulder presses with  alternated parallel grip
  • Plate raises
  • Dumbbell rear delts
  • Hammer strength presses
  • Cable rear delts (bottom pulley)
  • Face pulls
  • Arnolds drop sets

I finally took some photos of myself, and compared them to photos from last year.  I weigh several pounds less than I did at this time last January and I think it’s semi noticeable.  I probably weighed between 143 lb. to 145 lb. at this time last year.  Right now I’m around 136 lb.
Several months back I wrote about the role demographics play in your build, and can absolutely say that I am far more active here where the climate is warmer.
Baking like Betty
Unlike Chicago, I’m not stuck in the house. I baked EVERY day while in Chicago from boredom.  I turned into a Betty Crocker, but I haven’t baked much since we moved.
Since moving to Virginia my foods are a bit cleaner with far less treats. The weather is warmer so the kids and I are outside much more, also.
